As the heat of summer shifts towards the equally bright, beautiful Autumn days here in Montenegro, Luštica Bay continues to evolve, with construction work intensifying. Results of our busy summer season can be seen unfolding across the peninsula as the profile of our unique town emerges along the coast, uniting sea and mountain.
The ongoing work on our Gary Player signature 18-hole championship golf course is exciting local and international golfers alike. We are currently carving out the first four holes and the practice area on a stunning swathe of land above the Marina Village and Centrale. We also presented plans for our new, league-of-its-own neighbourhood, Centrale, which will become the town’s new cosmopolitan and administrative hub.
Our first of seven hotels, the five star The Chedi Luštica Bay, has risen apace on the edge of the shoreline. The waterfront and hillside neighbourhoods above the marina have seen the completion of the first townhouses and apartments. Crowning the waterfront, the Kamelija and Magnolija residences, with their unspoilt sea views, rise above the shoreline with breathtaking beauty.
Luštica Bay’s way of life has also been growing roots while our community flourishes. The summer was packed with events from musical concerts to unique art exhibitions. We saw 90 residents move into their new Lavanda and Ruzmarin homes, settling into life as it should be. Even though Autumn has arrived, the beach is still a popular gathering spot thanks to the ongoing warm weather. However there is more to Luštica Bay than its sunny clime. It offers an array of activities in the surrounding natural countryside, come rain or shine: hikes along the peninsula, olive-picking, sailing and exploring the meandering coastline.
On the Sea
So far this year we have been developing the area adjacent to the main marina, but we are now focusing efforts on the marina itself with infrastructure works set to increase.
The opening of the marina in the next year will be accompanied by the completion of numerous other Marina Village areas and features, so seafarers can drop anchor and discover all it has to offer. Our fully-kitted Marina Village will be a luxurious and convenient passageway for life on the coast.
The 176-slip main marina will be able to accommodate boats of up to 35m (115ft) and will offer a range of yachting and marina services including repairs and maintenance, electricity, security services and access to professional maintenance staff. More than a place to dock, it will be a coastal hub for socialising, relaxing and discovering with a host of restaurants & cafes, bars and shops; a place of exceptional style and comfort in a setting as charming as the Montenegrin fishing towns of old.
We are planning for a number of upcoming international roadshows to present our new marina to sailors who will be able to visit in 2018. Contact us for further inquiry or to book a berth, please contact us.
On the ground
During the summer months we handed over the keys to 90 Ruzmarin and Lavanda apartments for homeowners to begin their new lives. Emulating the peace and timelessness of traditional fishermen’s hamlets, the apartments are nestled above the marina’s frontline. Due to thoughtful design and construction, they seem to grow out of the very land itself, blending indigenous architecture with natural character.
Thanks to the cooperation and understanding demonstrated by our homeowners, construction continued across several other sites during the summer.
Our intense work on The Chedi Hotel has meant that we are already finalising the main infrastructure. Work will continue into Autumn, putting in place the breathtaking interiors of the largest five-star hotel in Boka Bay.The recent commencement of construction on the Kamlija and Magnolija clusters will press on and work on the Mimosa Townhouses is also well underway. We will continue efficiently over the coming months, sculpting our Marina Village ready for multiple milestones in 2018.
